Start of the day –

What is the month of the year? Sing our month of the year song. Do jazz hands for this month.

What day was it yesterday? What day of the week is it today? What day will it be tomorrow? Sing our days of the week song. Do jazz hands for today.

What is the weather today?

It was the 17th day of the month yesterday. I wonder if you know what the date it is today. How do you know?

 

Maths –

Youtube video – count and move song– count to 20 and march. Use a number line to help if you need to.

Pretend to be a rocket and count backwards from 20. Launch into the air when you say 0.

Model counting the corners on a shape. How many corners does each shape have? Cross off with a marker. Which shapes have no corners. Which shapes roll better? Which shapes stack better?

Predict which shapes slide, roll and stack better – investigate and test the theories. Where you correct?

Colour in a cube paper net. Cut out and glue to make in a cube.

On Sunday, it is Father’s Day. Can you make a special card for your Daddy or Grandad or Uncle?

Teach tricky word ‘do’. Look at the sounds in the word. Sound it out. It can’t sound out. How many letters in the word? Look at shape if you draw a box around the letters. The first letter is tall and the second is short. Split letters up. What letters do I need? Put in order.

Make a tricky word watch. Colour in and wear. Read your tricky word to your friends.

English/ Communication and Language –

Print out and cut up the instructions so that each instruction is on one piece of paper. The numbers have been removed to make you work harder on the next challenge. Jumble the instructions. Order the jumbled instructions on ‘How to make Paper’, remembering how you made it yesterday. Check your own against the instructions on the blog from Wednesday.

Can you write your own instructions? You could write some of the instructions and then ask a grown up to scribe the other instructions.

End of the Home School Day –

Tidy up all your play and learn mess. Have a chill and ask a grown up to read you a story.
