What day of the week is it today? What day will it be tomorrow? Sing our days of the week song. Do jazz hands for today. What is the weather today? Yesterday, it was the 23rd day of the month. I wonder if you know what the date it is today. How do you know?
Maths – Youtube video – count and move song– count to 20 and march. Use a number line to help if you need to. 10 children get on the naughty bus. Roll the die. Can you use a number line and a white board pen to model taking away that amount? Remember the frog jumps. Use the Splat board to count backwards. Can you find the number 10 on the splat board? Splat it! Can you count back 4 jumps? Splat each number you land on. Children fill in their own CVCC phoneme frame to match the picture. Share and read the word. Write a sentence to match one of the pictures.
English/ Communication and Language – Think of something naughty the bus might do. Can they take a photo of the bus doing it? Tip over pencils, Spill water. Drive through paint. Get covered in glue and feathers. Print out the picture and write a sentence to explain what is happening. Send me a copy to Tapestry and I will add it to our collection. I am going to put all the pages together to make a class book showing the adventures the naughty bus has gone. It will be our own story.
