Big Idea – Growing

The sun has got it’s hat on as we enter Summer Term! yay!

This half term we will be looking at animals and plants and how they grow. We will be getting muddy fingers in the garden and getting our own caterpillar pets in the classroom. The children with develop curiosity through observations, stories and non-fiction texts. This is my favourite term because not only do we see nature blooming, but we see our little ones blooming too. They have made so much progress already but this half term they seem to much more mature and resilient in their learning.

Keep an eye out on Tapestry for our learning adventure.

Please remember sun hats and water bottles daily. Your child can bring suncream to school in a named bottle. Your child must only apply their own cream, and not share cream with other children. This is due to allergies. We will share the importance of this with the children too.

Thank you.

The focus will be to learn about our world, and why it is special to us. We will think about how we look after things that are special to us and the importance of looking after our world.

Big Idea – Creating

Image result for creating

This half term we are going to be learning about what it means it create. We are going to look at various creators and then become creators ourselves. We are going to link this to our current interest: Polar regions. I would like to inspire the children to create their own texture book based on a Polar Region animal. It would be lovely to arrange a story time with younger family members where the children could share their texture book. We will send an invitation to the story time. I will aim for 2:45 on Friday 9th February.
