Big idea – Exploring
Our Big idea for Autumn 2 is ‘Exploring’. We are going to explore and encourage the children to be fascinated by Dark and Light. I am excited to go along the learning journey with our children. I wonder what they will be curious to explore.

Please see the timetable for this half term. We aim to stick to the timetable, however, sometimes something exciting take overs and we deviate.
The children had a fabulous Autumn term 1. I am so pleased and proud of them all. I know they will shine just as much this half term.

Well done to Raff for showing Resilience when he was writing the names of Ninja Turtle characters. He used the phonics he knows. He used the grapheme mats to help with formation. This showed Resourcefulness.

Friday 8th September – Little note home
Good Afternoon,
Big well done to all our new little ones!
We are all very proud of them.
They have settled in so well…only the occasion wobble (nothing cuddles and giggles can’t fix).
This weekend, they might be a little tired and the reality of school may kick in. Ask them to share things that made them laugh. They seem to love my baby impression and the Pantosaurus song! You may wish to encourage your little one to share names of children who they have played with, and organise some play dates. You could encourage them to draw a picture for a new friend or member of staff. It’s a big change, and it may take some children more time than others to settle. If you have any concerns or magical happy moments then please share these with me on the gate at drop off or pick up.
I hope you have now received the newsletter. I will add this to the Reception blog along with a mini weekly timetable. More information about the next half term in Reception is in the newsletter. We send these half termly.

Next week, I will be sending home a Tapestry online learning journal set up link, and details for a Big Cat reading online account. Please keep a look out for these. I will email you so that you know when to expect the set up links.
We are looking forward to seeing their smiley faces on Monday morning. Please remember book bags on Monday morning. The children will be bringing home a story book to read with you at home. Book bags then only need to come into school on a Monday. PE bags only need to come into school on PE days to carry their uniform. The children come to school in their PE kit on PE days and will change into their uniform after PE.
Thank you for your support and patience this week. It will get faster at home pick up time once I match your face to your child, and the children get used to the routine.
We are excited for a fun filled second week.

Welcome to Reception!
Hello Everyone,
We are so excited to welcome a new bunch of little ones to Meadowside Academy Reception. I cannot wait to see how they thrive this year.
Please find below the Newsletter for this first half term.
Please use this timetable to help you plan your week. Every day, your child will need a water bottle. They will need appropriate clothing for the weather, such as a hat on sunny days and a coat on cold days.
Monday – Bring book bag in. If you are absent on Monday due to illness then please bring the book bag on the first day back to school. Book bags only need to come into school on Monday. We will be starting Show and Tell on a Monday. Please look out for more details on your Tapestry account.
Tuesday – Come in PE clothes with School uniform to change into. PE kits only need to be in school on PE days. They will be returned home at the end of the PE day.
Wednesday – Outdoor learning waterproofs. Wellies should be left in school for playing in the mud kitchen and jumping in puddles.
Thursday – Come in PE clothes with School uniform to change into.
